Game of CricketBack to the game

Privacy.

The short version. Game of Cricket runs in your browser and keeps your career on your own device. There are no accounts, no logins, and no tracking or analytics of any kind. Nothing about how you play is ever sent anywhere. The only information that leaves your device is a feedback form, and only when you choose to send one. The game shows optional ads, served by Google, which use cookies.

Who runs this site

Game of Cricket is an independent, free T20 management simulation built by a single developer. It is not affiliated with any cricket board, league, franchise or broadcaster, and every club and player in it is fictional.

For anything on this page, write to dhruvfadadu12@gmail.com.

No accounts, no tracking

You do not create an account to play, and you are never asked for a name, an email address or any other identifying detail in order to use the game. The manager name you type when starting a career is a label on a save file on your device — it is not sent anywhere and it does not identify you to anyone.

This site runs no analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no heatmapping, no error-reporting service and no first-party telemetry. Nobody, including the developer, can see which screens you open, how far you get in a season, or whether you play at all.

What is stored on your device

The game is offline-first, which means it stores quite a lot — all of it locally, in your own browser, where only you and your browser can read it. None of the following is transmitted anywhere.

  • Your careers, in an IndexedDB database named GameOfCricketDB. That is the save itself: manager name, club, squad, fixtures, results, ball-by-ball history, finances and sponsorship deals.
  • Your preferences, in localStorage under game-of-cricket-settings — simulation speed, colour palette, audio and match effects.
  • Which save is open, under goc.activeSaveId, so closing the tab does not lose your place.
  • Feedback you have written, under game-of-cricket-feedback. A copy is kept locally so that a response written offline is not lost, and so the game knows not to ask you the same question twice.
  • Which celebrations you have seen, under game-of-cricket-celebrations, so a trophy is not handed to you twice.
  • A copy of the site itself, in the browser’s cache, placed there by a service worker so the game keeps working without a connection.

All of it is yours to remove at any time — see deleting everything, below.

Feedback you choose to send

The game occasionally offers a short feedback form, and Settings has a permanent way into it. It is the one place where information leaves your device, and only when you press send.

A submitted response contains:

  • your answers — a 1–5 rating, two yes/no questions, which features you picked from a list, and any free-text comment you wrote;
  • a little context so the answers can be read against each other: the season year, your club’s name, how many matches you had played, and how the season finished;
  • your email address, only if you typed one. It is optional, the form works without it, and it is used for one thing: telling you when something you asked for ships.

Responses are appended as rows to a private Google Sheet owned by the developer, via a Google Apps Script endpoint. They are not shared, sold or published, and they are not used for advertising. To have a response you sent deleted, email the address at the top of this page and say roughly when you sent it.

Advertising

This site is free and is supported by advertising. Ads are served by Google AdSense, which is a third-party vendor.

Ads here are only ever optional and rewarded: a small number of convenience features — picking a balanced XI automatically, fast-forwarding to the end of an innings, skipping to a result — offer you a short ad in exchange. Each one is marked with an “Ad” label before you press it, each one has a free alternative, and nothing in the game is locked behind watching one. There are no banners, no pop-ups, and no ads that appear without you asking for them.

What you should know about how that works:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
  • More detail on how Google handles data from sites that use its services is at Google’s partner sites policy.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any personalised ads are shown, through Google’s certified consent management platform. You can change that choice at any time from the same prompt.

Blocking ads does not break anything. If an ad cannot be shown for any reason — you are offline, an extension blocked it, or none was available — the feature you asked for is given to you anyway.

Deleting everything

Because nothing is held on a server, deleting your data is something you do yourself and it takes effect immediately.

  • One career: Settings → Save management → Delete save. You can export it as a file first if you want a copy.
  • Your feedback history: Settings → Feedback → clear. This removes the local copy; to remove a response already sent, email the address above.
  • Everything, including preferences: clear this site’s data in your browser settings. In most browsers that is under Privacy → Cookies and site data → See all site data, then remove this site.

There is nothing to request and nobody to ask — no copy of any of it exists anywhere else, so once it is gone from your browser it is gone.

Children

This game is not directed at children under 13, and no information is knowingly collected from them. Since the game asks for nothing about you in order to be played, there is nothing collected from a child using it either. If you believe a child has sent a feedback response containing personal information, email the address above and it will be removed.

Changes to this policy

If what the game does with data changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Anything that meaningfully affects you — a new third party, a new thing collected — will be called out in the game rather than left for you to notice here.
